Welcome on the Quebec Harbour Authorities Website

Welcome onboard the Administrations portuaires du Québec / Québec Harbour Authorities website. From here, you can sail into most Quebec's fishing harbours which are managed locally in partnership with the Harbour Authorities under the federal jurisdiction of the Department of Fisheries and Oceans.

In addition to visiting the various ports, you will also learn a lot about the key role played by Harbour Authorities staffed by a network of volunteers who manage the commercial fishing harbours.

The harbour of Pointe-Basse is situated right in the heart of the Magdalen Islands Archipelago at about 5 nautical miles or 16 land miles from the Municipality of Cap-aux-Meules. This port can serve some 40 inshore vessels. The Harbour Authority provides visitors with all the services they need at the wharf for a pleasant stay. Herring and above all lobster are the species landed daily in the harbour. The Harbour Authority was created in this location in 1992 to manage the fishing harbours of Pointe-Basse and Pointe-aux-Loups. Details
